Please see the below tropical update from the NWS New Orleans / Baton Rouge:
- Potential Tropical Cyclone Six is forecast to become a tropical storm (Francine) in the next day or so, and continue gradually strengthening into a hurricane before a Louisiana / Texas landfall.
- While the system remains largely disorganized with no clear center of circulation, it is expected to become better organized and consolidate into a tropical storm in the next 24 hours.
- EBR is forecast to have a Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall/Flash Flooding Tuesday – Thursday, with the greatest threat on Wednesday which may be upgraded as the track of PTC 6.
- Due to recent heavy rains, soils are already saturated in some areas, and heavy rain will quickly turn to runoff.
- There is currently 4-6” of rainfall expected for the area through Friday.
